Where was Lara Logan's security for 20 to 30 minutes?
CBS news journalist Lara Logan was assaulted in Egypt. She had become separated from her news team and protection detail. Several questions: How many protectors does it take to be "safe" in a mob? Tahrir Square is a large place, capable of holding tens or hundreds of thousands of people. Once separated from their protectee (Logan), where did the protectors go? I read that she sustained prolonged (20-30 minutes)assaults before being rescued by women and Egyptian soldiers. Where were the tactical observation posts? Were there any? Why or why not? Total breakdown in planning here. Something smells...

Gracie Barra Augusta

Standup Paddleboarding in Augusta, GA
Last Saturday I participated in the 2010 Paddlefest Augusta event on the Savannah River. It was a fun time! The standup paddleboarders raced a little over 4 miles. We had a blast!

Jaime Escalante
Jaime Escalante (1930-2010) was featured in a movie called "Stand and Deliver." He was played by the actor Edward James Olmos. That movie and Mr. Escalante's example of loving toughness played a big role in my becoming a teacher.

Current workout...
This is what I am doing right now:
Mon-Wed-Fri: Total body circuit (10 reps each exercise)x3
Tue-Thur:Conditioning (sandbags, Bulgarian bag, sledgehammer swings)10 reps each movement-squats/deadlifts/presses, "junk" drags/pulls etc. (need to build a sled...)
"Cardio Coffee" M-F: stationary bike first thing in the AM(when I don't hit the snooze button)
This is what I am doing and a goal to do (don't always make it).
